Turkey Airports & Flights
There are over 50 airports in Turkey, and several of them are international. The most popular of these are Ataturk (near Istanbul, code: IST) and Antalya (AYT). Both are key transfer points for visitors to other parts of the country continuing on domestic flights.
Ataturk International Airport is on the European side of Istanbul, less than 20 miles from the downtown area. It has a duty free area, an airport hotel, and a good number of restaurants and cafes. Luggage storage, a photography service, and a hair salon are also available. Turkish Airlines and British Airways are two of the many large air carriers with regularly scheduled service to this airport.
Antalya International Airport is equipped with currency exchange points, a children’s play area in the departure lounge, restaurants and cafes, and a prayer room, among other amenities. It offers assistance to special needs passengers. Over 100 scheduled and charter airlines use Antalya International.
